Your Role

Are you an experienced tax professional with solid expertise in German tax law, looking to work independently in an international corporate environment? Then this is the right role for you: As Inhouse Tax Consultant (m/f/d) at Syntax Systems in Weinheim, you will take on operational responsibility for tax processes, analysis, and their continuous optimization – on a permanent contract at 20 hours/week (50% part-time). Thanks to our hybrid work model (remote & on-site), you enjoy maximum flexibility – on average, you are only on-site one day per week.

You are the first point of contact for tax-related matters within the organization and report directly to the Director Finance Europe, with close alignment to the Director Global Tax.

Your Responsibilities

  • Preparation and submission of EC Sales Lists
  • Processing of VAT advance returns and annual VAT declarations
  • Execution of corporate income tax calculations
  • Determination and posting of deferred taxes
  • Preparation of annual tax returns in close collaboration with external tax advisors
  • Serving as the primary point of contact (m/f/d) for all internal tax matters
  • Coordination and collaboration with external tax advisors and tax authorities
  • Administration of flat-rate taxation
  • Maintenance and management of tax codes in ERP systems (SAP ECC / S/4HANA)
  • Supporting the Global Accounts Payable team on tax-related questions regarding travel expenses and reimbursements
  • Review of purchase agreements with respect to double taxation treaties and withholding tax regulations

 

Your Profile

What you bring

  • Strong hands-on expertise in German tax topics – particularly in the areas listed above
  • Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
  • Professional communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience coordinating with external tax advisors and tax authorities

Nice to have

  • SAP experience (ECC / S/4HANA) and/or familiarity with ERP-based tax processes

Languages

  • German: Fluent (mandatory)
  • English: Advanced level

  • Hybrid: On average 1 day/week on-site in Weinheim, plus availability for 1–2 tax audits per year
