Controller (m/f/d) Product Calculation

Syntax is seeking a Controller (m/f/d) Product Calculation who will work globally with finance and product management in Europe and North America to calculate product and service costs.

Responsibilities

• Product and Service Costing: Work with Product Management and Operations teams to calculate unit costs for use in customer pricing, intercompany transactions, and new product analysis.
• Cost tracking: Monitor and track costs throughout the lifecycle of our products and services and maintain detailed records for individual products that can be used to evaluate future pricing.
• Cost records management: Prepare ad hoc cost-related financial reports and manage system updates.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide cost-related insights and recommendations.
• Process improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within cost accounting and contribute to the implementation of best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Data analysis: Utilize analytical tools and techniques to analyze cost data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for cost control and optimization.
• Product Management: Working closely with our Global Product Management team to define product and services pricing.
• Sales Support: Support Sales in large non-standard proposals to determine appropriate costing and margins.
• SAP master data maintenance: Creation and maintenance of activity types as well as Creation and updating of internal billing records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
• Proven experience in product calculation within IT industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and cost calculation methodologies.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Requires excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
