The Business & Partnership Development Manager (m/f/d) is a pivotal role responsible for driving growth through strategic business initiatives and a high-impact partnership with Microsoft. We are seeking an exceptionally motivated individual contributor with years of experience to join our dynamic and growing team for Business & Partnership Development. This senior role is responsible for developing and driving the business and the partnership with Microsoft focusing on identifying and winning joint business opportunities to accelerate Syntax’ growth and to enhance our market position. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in business development, partnership development, Go-to-Market planning, or related fields such as consulting and strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Business Development


Broad range of responsibilities for advancing the business together with Microsoft exploring joint business opportunities leveraging Microsoft solutions, such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot, and so on:

 

  • Market Research and Opportunity Analysis focusing on Microsoft ecosystem
    • Identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
    • Analyze business opportunities to evaluate feasibility and strategic fit.
    • Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on solid data.
  • Thought Leadership and Content Creation on Joint Expertise with Microsoft
    • Produce thought leadership content, e.g., whitepapers, articles, studies.
    • Promote new business initiatives at industry events and conferences.
  • External Marketing Support for a Co-Branded Go-to-Market with Microsoft
    • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute external campaigns.
    • Support the creation of materials to promote new business initiatives.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy Development & Execution around Microsoft Solutions
    • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new business initiatives.
    • Define target markets, customer segments, and value propositions.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to succeed market entry and growth.
  • Customer Engagement and Relationship Building to Microsoft Customers
    • Engage with potential/existing customers to get needs and challenges.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers w/ Microsoft.
  • Growth/Performance Monitoring and Reporting of Business w/ Microsoft
    • Track key metrics and report on progress to upper senior management.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Internal Advocacy and Evangelism all around the Microsoft Ecosystem 
    • Advocate for new joint business development initiatives with Microsoft.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and support.
    • Promote a culture of co-created innovation and continuous improvement.


Partnership Development

 

  • Innovation Scouting and Partner Engagement within Microsoft Ecosystem
    • Identify and engage with innovative fields of action and momentum.
    • Scout for new Microsoft technologies that enhance Syntax’ offerings.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key players at and beyond Microsoft.
  • Partnership Agreements and Joint Strategic Plans with Microsoft
    • Develop strategic partnership with Microsoft as major technology partner.
    • Align partnership objectives with Microsoft’s and Syntax’ strategic goals.
  • Nurturing Leads via Microsoft and Winning Joint Business Opportunities
    • Translate strategic partnership towards joint offerings and market reach.
    • Build a strong pipeline of co-branded initiatives and co-marketing efforts.
    • Pursue joint leads, business opportunities, and collaborative projects.

 


Qualifications

 

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 to rather 10 years in business development, partnership management, marketing and sales, or related fields.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft ecosystems.
  • Strong Relationships in Key Industries: At least 3 years fostering business or sales at C-level with industry leaders in Manufacturing, Retail, or Private Equity.
  • Broad Microsoft Network: Reliable relations up to decision-making level within the Microsoft organization as key partner for this role is a very strong advantage.
  • Consulting or Strategy Experience: Minimum of 3 years in management consulting or corporate strategy, including developing storylines and delivering highly professional presentations to advise C-level on ad-hoc analyses
  • Thought Leadership: Proven advocate for new business models and thought leader in keynotes or studies with industry leaders and international institutions.
  • Executive Engagements: Experience in convincing of and delivering to C-level or high-caliber decision-makers in Manufacturing, Retail, or Private Equity.
  • Global Experience: Proven in working with Americans in a global partner setting.
  • Customer-focused mindset, strategic thinking and strong communication (in German and Englisch)
