Job Summary:
The SAP Project Systems (PS) / Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) Functional Architect at Syntax is a key role within the Global Functional Competency Team, responsible for leading solution design, ensuring project quality, and supporting pre-sales efforts. This position combines billable quality assurance and architecture work (50%), pre-sales consulting (20%), and competency development (30%).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billable Work (50%):
    • Lead end-to-end SAP PS functional design across S/4HANA, integrating with FI/CO, MM, SD, and PP.
    • Conduct Fit to Standard workshops and perform QA reviews on design documents and test scripts.
    • Approve project scope, conduct functional QA assessments, and oversee testing validation.
    • Collaborate with QA leads and Delivery Managers to monitor quality metrics.
    • Support resource allocation and interview potential consultants.
  • Pre-Sales Activities (20%):
    • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP PS in proposals and strategic discussions.
    • Assist Sales and Solution Architects with demos, proposals, and effort estimates.
    • Participate in client workshops and validate Statements of Work (SOWs).
    • Contribute to pitch decks and collaborate on innovation initiatives.
  • Competency Development (30%):
    • Design and update SAP PS best practices and configuration templates.
    • Mentor junior consultants and lead weekly competency sync calls.
    • Contribute to the SAP Playbook and industry blueprints.
    • Develop training paths for SAP PS certification and publish knowledge resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a USA or Canadian Citizen.
  • 10+ years of hands-on SAP PS experience.
  • Minimum of 5 full life cycle SAP implementations.
  • Strong demo skills and functional experience with SD and PS integration.
  • Familiarity with project-based billing and various revenue recognition methods.
  • Pre-sales experience in demos and client presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EPPM and SAP public cloud projects.
  • Experience in the Engineering Construction and Operations or Professional Services industries.
  • Knowledge of integration with non-SAP PMIS systems and SAP Fieldglass.
  • SAP Service Management skills are a plus.

Education & Certifications:

  • SAP Certification preferred.
  • University Degree preferred.
