Job Description: Technical Solution Architect (ABAP)
Position Summary
The Technical Solution Architect (ABAP) is responsible for designing and overseeing SAP technical solutions with a strong focus on ABAP development within S/4HANA and ECC environments. This role acts as a bridge between business requirements, functional design, and technical implementation, ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-quality SAP solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Key Responsibilities

Define, design, and govern SAP ABAP technical architecture in alignment with project and enterprise requirements.

Provide guidance on ABAP development standards, performance optimization, and best practices in S/4HANA environments.

Lead technical design sessions and translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Evaluate existing custom developments and recommend remediation, simplification, or optimization approaches.

Oversee and review developments (RICEF objects, CDS Views, OData Services, Enhancements, Interfaces).

Collaborate with functional, integration, and BASIS teams to ensure end-to-end technical integrity.

Provide thought leadership on ABAP modernization (HANA-optimized code, RAP, Fiori enablement).

Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and enterprise architecture guidelines.

Mentor ABAP developers and contribute to building technical capability within the team.

Support project planning, estimation, and delivery in SAP transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

8+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 3+ years as a technical architect or lead.

Strong expertise in ABAP Objects, CDS Views, OData Services, AMDP, Enhancements, BADIs, and performance tuning.

Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA conversions, greenfield implementations, and system integrations.

Knowledge of SAP BTP, Fiori, RAP model, and modern ABAP programming practices.

Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and ALM tools.

SAP ABAP on HANA or SAP S/4HANA Development certification is a strong plus.
