Job Title: SAP Basis Junior

Role Overview

An SAP Basis Junior supports the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of SAP systems. This entry-level role focuses on learning core Basis activities such as system performance, transports, user administration, and basic troubleshooting under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining SAP systems (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA)
• Monitor system performance and ensure availability
• Support SAP transport management (moving changes between environments)
• Perform basic user administration (user creation, roles, authorizations)
• Help with system upgrades, patches, and kernel updates
• Monitor background jobs and resolve simple issues
• Assist in database administration tasks (backups, basic checks)
• Document procedures and technical activities
• Work with senior Basis consultants to resolve incidents

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Basic understanding of SAP architecture (application server, database, etc.)
• Familiarity with operating systems (Linux/Unix or Windows Server)
• Basic knowledge of databases (Oracle, HANA, or SQL Server)
• Understanding of networking concepts is a plus
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Internship or academic exposure to SAP
• Basic knowledge of SAP GUI and SAP transport system (TMS)
• Familiarity with SAP HANA environment
• Certifications like SAP Basis or related training
