Payroll Specialist – North America

Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll (for salaried and hourly employees) for the US entity
• Review payroll transactions entered into the system including new hires, terminations and salary increases
• Calculate termination payments and manual payroll adjustments and enter one time payments into the system
• Communicate with the HR department and other internal stakeholders to ensure pay and employee records are accurate and up-to-date
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, payslips, and deductions.
• Participate in year end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation
• Participate in other special projects as needed
• Willingness to learn other country payrolls as the company grows

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll
• General knowledge of US taxes, payroll legislation and basic accounting principles
• ADP Workforce Now experience is an asset
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• High degree of ownership, independence, and decision-making skills
• Experience working in a multi-site environment and international operations is an asset
• Solid communication skills and ability to work with internal and external partners
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and extreme discretion
• Ability to meet strict, fast-paced deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
