Payroll Assistant
Position Summary
The Payroll Assistant supports the payroll function by ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This role assists with payroll calculations, data entry, compliance, and reporting, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll on a regular basis (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).

Collect, validate, and enter payroll data including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits.

Support payroll reconciliations and ensure accuracy of payroll records.

Maintain and update employee payroll information in HRIS/payroll systems.

Assist with statutory deductions, taxes, social security, and other mandatory contributions in compliance with local labor laws.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and pay discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.

Support audits by preparing payroll documentation and reports as required.

Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data consistency and process improvements.

Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information at all times.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

1–3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or HR administration (junior profiles welcome).

Basic knowledge of payroll processes, labor regulations, and statutory deductions.

Experience using payroll systems and HRIS tools (e.g., SAP, ADP, Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate level).
