Accounting Specialist
Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
- Process and review invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a multinational or shared services environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is a plus.
