Job Description: AWS Cloud Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps practices, with a proven ability to optimize performance, cost, and security across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments to ensure performance, availability, and cost-efficiency.

• Configure and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, and CloudWatch.

• Develop automation scripts and pipelines for CI/CD, backups, monitoring, and deployments.

• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure best practices in cloud design and governance.

• Implement and maintain security controls, identity management, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR).

• Provide technical support, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role with AWS.

• Strong knowledge of AWS core services and cloud-native architectures.

• Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).

• Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.

• AWS Certification (AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer) is a plus.
