Active Directory Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Active Directory Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of our organization's Active Directory infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of Active Directory design, implementation, and troubleshooting, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Active Directory Management:
Design, implement, and maintain the organization's Active Directory structure, including domains, forests, and trusts.
Create and manage user and group accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Monitor and manage Active Directory replication, ensuring data consistency and integrity across domain controllers.
User Identity and Access Management:
Provision and deprovision user accounts and ensure proper access controls based on company policies and security best practices.
Implement and manage Group Policies to enforce security standards and configuration settings.
Troubleshoot and resolve user authentication and access issues.
Directory Services Infrastructure:
Install, configure, and upgrade domain controllers and related infrastructure components.
Monitor directory services performance, availability, and resource utilization.
Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for Active Directory.
Security and Compliance:
Enforce security measures, such as password policies, account lockout policies, and multi-factor authentication.
Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on Active Directory infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Diagnose and resolve Active Directory-related issues, such as replication problems, authentication failures, and group policy conflicts.
Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users and IT teams.
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Active Directory with other systems and applications.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of Active Directory configurations, processes, and procedures.
Generate regular reports on Active Directory performance, usage, and security.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an Active Directory Administrator or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of Active Directory architecture, design, and best practices.
Proficiency in managing user accounts, group policies, and security permissions.
Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, and DHCP.
Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems.
Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA: Windows Server) are a plus.
