We are seeking an experienced Senior OCI Engineer with 12-14 years of expertise in Infrastructure Management, including Operating Systems (OS), virtualization, networking, VMware OCVS, and cloud migration. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, optimizing, and ensuring the seamless operation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions for enterprise environments. This position requires deep technical knowledge and leadership capabilities to drive large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Strategy and Design:
Lead the design and architecture of robust OCI solutions tailored for enterprise environments.
Develop strategies for infrastructure scalability, high availability, and optimal performance.
Evaluate new OCI services and recommend their adoption to enhance operations.
Virtualization and VMware OCVS:
Architect and manage VMware workloads in Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS).
Lead virtualization technology implementations and troubleshooting for complex environments.
Networking:
Provide advanced networking solutions, including VCN design, subnet configurations, and security policies.
Ensure secure and optimized connectivity between on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
Troubleshoot networking issues and implement enhancements.
Cloud Migration and Optimization:
Plan, lead, and execute migration projects, including workload assessment, migration strategy, and execution.
Migrate applications, databases, and virtual machines to OCI with minimal downtime.
Optimize migrated solutions for cost, performance, and security.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance for project execution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application, database, and security teams.
Act as a subject matter expert and advisor for OCI-related initiatives.
Security and Compliance:
Enforce security best practices in OCI environments, including IAM roles and policies.
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of architectures, configurations, and processes.
Provide regular reports on infrastructure performance, costs, and improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
12-14 years of experience in infrastructure management and cloud computing.
Extensive experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and VMware OCVS.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows).
Advanced proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
In-depth understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs).
Strong expertise in OCI services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Identity, OCVS).
Proven experience in cloud migrations, including workload assessment and execution.
Hands-on experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash).
Soft Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Leadership and mentoring skills for guiding technical teams.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects with competing priorities.
Certifications (Preferred):
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications (OCI Architect Professional strongly preferred).
VMware certifications (VMware Certified Advanced Professional - VCAP).
Networking certifications (CCNP or equivalent).
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's) or equivalent work experience are preferred.
