POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant role is a part of the Controlling team and is responsible for supporting the team in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing journal entries, detailed reports, master data and account reconciliations.  This role reports to the Regional Controller Americas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Prepare accounting records, including journal entries, account reconciliations and other financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Key person in charge of Intercompany transactions for the region.
  • Responsible for updating all balance sheet reconciliation information and gathering information from all department leads.
  • Assist and support with annual financial audits by providing documentation and analysis.
  • Participate in the development and implementation policies to ensure internal controls are in place.
  • Support the controller in the cash flow management.
  • Be a part of a wide variety of special projects.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a CPA certification (an asset)
  • 5 years of experience in the accounting field
  • Ability to manage one’s time with minimal oversight
  • Must be self-motivated with strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact with different departments
  • Experience with Excel advanced formulas, BI and SAP
  • An ability to use critical and analytical thinking skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
