Job Title: Junior Security Engineer

Position Summary: We are seeking a Mid-Level Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the engineering, deployment, and ongoing administration of our Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) across Cisco Firepower and Fortigate platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, possesses strong English communication skills, and demonstrates a high level of personal accountability and organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Engineer, deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco Firepower and Fortigate IPS solutions across multiple managed enterprise environments.
· Track and monitor system health, ensure continuous uptime, and respond to system issues or failures.
· Manage firmware upgrades, patching, policy tuning, and alerting rules.
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent enforcement of network security policies.
· Document engineering standards, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
· Participate in incident response activities involving IPS platforms.
· Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of the organization’s PAM solution, ensuring secure access to critical systems and data.
· Collaborate with the SOC in tuning and maintaining IPS rules.
· Document procedures and solutions and communicate effectively within the team.
· Assist in the design and rollout of Cisco Global Secure Access (GSA), including architecture planning, configuration, and integration with enterprise systems.
· Evaluate and recommend improvements to security technologies and workflows.
· Stay up to date on threat landscape and best practices related to intrusion detection and prevention.
Required Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of experience in a security engineering or infrastructure security role.
· Hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower (FMC/FTD) and Fortigate firewalls/IPS, including deployment, policy management, and tuning.
· Familiarity with secure network architecture principles and NIDS/NIPS technologies.
· Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity with Cisco Global Secure Access (GSA) or Cisco Secure Client (AnyConnect replacement).
· Familiarity with SIEM technologies (e.g., Splunk), EDR, or vulnerability management platforms.
· Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP Security, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent.
· Experience working in a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment.
