The SAP Project Manager at Syntax plays a crucial role in overseeing the successful implementation of SAP projects. This position is responsible for defining, planning, tracking, and managing project execution to meet objectives within time and budget constraints. The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to project management methodologies, providing coaching, and facilitating knowledge sharing through lessons learned. This role has a significant impact on delivering project outputs that enhance client satisfaction and drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in project planning activities and manage execution according to established plans.
- Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients, ensuring effective communication of progress and issues.
- Keep stakeholders informed of project developments to manage expectations regarding requirements and deliverables.
- Communicate a clear vision of project objectives and motivate the project team to achieve them, fostering an environment conducive to peak performance.
- Proactively identify changes in work scope and collaborate with stakeholders to reassess and amend project requirements, budget, and timeline.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the project, including budgeting and tracking estimate-to-actual variances.
- Analyze risks, establish contingency plans, and identify trigger events for initiating mitigation actions.
- Escalate project issues to stakeholders promptly to ensure timely resolutions.
- Define criteria for successful project closure and secure sign-off from all parties involved.
- Manage and enhance stakeholder satisfaction to secure customer references and success stories.
- Provide team coaching and evaluate performance to reinforce enterprise knowledge management.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of Project Management experience within the SAP domain, with consulting experience considered a significant asset.
- Proven track record of completing 5 or more full life-cycle project implementations.
- At least 5 years of experience in client management.
- Hands-on functional experience in one or more SAP modules.
- Ability to work in Canada; sponsorship is not provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a functional consultant within SAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an MBA is preferred.
- PMP certification is an asset.
