Consulting Manager

Job Summary:
The Consulting Manager plays a pivotal role in the development and success of the consulting team at Syntax. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing high-performing consultants to meet the diverse needs of our clients. By ensuring that team members are equipped with the necessary skills and support, the Consulting Manager enables continuous professional growth and aligns team performance with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage an up-to-date inventory of required skills within the consulting team.
- Recruit, develop, retain, and coach a high-performing team of consultants aligned with business needs.
- Ensure consultants are properly trained, prepared, and supported to fulfill project and client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Resourcing team to identify skill gaps and define effective hiring strategies.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, career guidance, and mentorship to consulting staff.
- Ensure consultants have access to continuous learning, upskilling, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, processes, and standards, guiding staff to adhere to them.
- Work cross-functionally with Solutions, Project Management, Resource Management, Recruiting, HR, and Sales teams.
- Actively promote and reinforce company values: Accountability, Excellence through Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, Understanding Customer Needs, and a Pragmatic Can-Do Attitude.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly manage all members of the consulting team.
- Responsible for performance management, coaching, development planning, and talent decisions.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong mentorship capability and resilience in overcoming challenges to achieve team, project, and client goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively in collaborative environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and executive stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is considered an asset but not mandatory.
- Advanced quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Strong qualitative analysis capabilities and efficient resource management skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of how people, business processes, and technology interact to drive organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, training, and certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a consulting environment or similar role.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Previous experience in talent development or team leadership roles.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) is preferred.
