Team Manager Virtualization

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results driven Team Lead – Virtualization Platform to guide the engineering and delivery of our enterprise virtualization infrastructure. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled engineers, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure our infrastructure is scalable, cost efficient, resilient and aligned with both business outcomes and customer success. You will balance operational excellence with strategic innovation, championing automation, AI‑enabled optimization, and seamless integration with hybrid/cloud initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead the delivery of virtualization services against SLA commitments.
•    Drive the engineering, deployment and lifecycle management of virtualization platforms across the enterprise and customer environments.
•    Deliver consistently reliable and efficient virtualized services.
•    Integrate virtualization strategies into wider infrastructure modernization and hybrid/cloud adoption roadmaps.
•    Champion automation-first and data driven optimization practices, leveraging emerging AI/ML solutions where applicable.
•    Oversee capacity planning, patching and upgrade strategies.
•    Manage budgets, cost optimization initiatives, and resource allocation for virtualization projects.
•    Own and evolve the virtualization platform roadmap, ensuring clear technical documentation and driving continuous innovation.
•    Foster a culture of continuous learning, mentorship and knowledge sharing.

 Preferred Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field (or equivalent experience).
•    5+ years of leadership experience in delivering or operating enterprise virtualization services, ideally within managed service or SLA‑driven environments.
•    Strong record in coaching, mentoring, and performance management for engineering teams.
•    Expertise in one or more enterprise grade virtualization platforms with Infrastructure as Code proficiency.
•    Exposure to automation frameworks and AI/ML-driven diagnostics for proactive remediation, capacity planning or performance optimization.
•    Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and decision making skills.
•    ITIL or similar process framework knowledge/certification highly desired.
•    Familiarity with hybrid/multi‑cloud environments and container orchestration.
