Job Description: IT Asset Management Specialist

The IT Asset Manager / Asset Management Specialist leads and oversees the lifecycle of company-issued laptops and IT peripherals. This role ensures accurate inventory management, from procurement planning through deployment, maintenance, recovery, and retirement with effective asset tracking.

The specialist collaborates closely with IT, HR, Procurement, Security, and Finance teams to ensure that all devices are acquired, deployed, maintained, and retired efficiently and securely.

We are looking for a candidate who brings a strong process-driven approach and a high commitment to data accuracy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate laptop inventory across all regions and storage locations.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate buffer inventory for new hires and replacements.
  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of company laptops, from procurement to retirement and secure disposal.
  • Ensure all assets are aligned with corporate standards and refresh cycles.
  • Monitor software license compliance related to laptop deployments.
  • Continuously optimize and/or automate the processes for laptop onboarding, offboarding, and transfers, by cooperating with HR and IT support teams.
  • Produce regular reports on inventory status, device lifecycle, compliance, aging hardware, and forecasted procurement needs.
  • Work with Procurement to manage vendor relationships, quotes, orders, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner with Security to ensure device encryption, compliance, and end-of-life data destruction.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in IT support or IT Operations (Service desk, support desk)
  • Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle management (laptops, peripherals..)
  • Experience with enterprise IT inventory systems (ServiceNow, Intune, JAMF, SCCM, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or IT Asset Management (ITAM) best practices.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor management.
