Position Summary:
The SAP Expert Team Manager combines leadership of an SAP consultant team with direct involvement in SAP delivery activities. This hybrid role ensures operational excellence through effective team management and high-quality customer service in SAP projects and AMS delivery. The manager drives team growth, capability development, and customer satisfaction while contributing directly to SAP consulting assignments as a subject‑matter expert in at least one key SAP module.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of SAP consultants across functional and technical areas.
- Manage resource planning, utilization, and continuous development of team members.
- Drive consistency, quality, and customer success within the SAP practice.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and skill development aligned with Syntax’s growth strategy.
- Monitor delivery performance and optimize team structures for both project and AMS activities.
- Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and adherence to Syntax’s methodology.
- Contribute to strategic planning, financial forecasting, and capacity management.
SAP Consulting & AMS Delivery
- Deliver expert SAP consulting and AMS (Application Management Services) support, including incident resolution, change requests, minor enhancements, and continuous improvement activities.
- Provide solution design, configuration, and advisory services within at least one SAP module (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, HCM, SuccessFactors, Basis, Analytics, or BTP).
- Act as a subject-matter expert and escalation point for complex SAP issues within the team.
- Engage in customer projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to SLAs.
- Support process optimization and innovation within AMS and project delivery frameworks.
- Participate in pre-sales, scoping, and solution proposals, ensuring technical and business alignment.
- Document and promote best practices, knowledge articles, and reusable templates across the SAP practice.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of SAP consulting experience, including AMS delivery.
- Proven expertise in at least one SAP functional or technical module.
- At least 2 years of experience managing or leading SAP consultants.
- Strong understanding of SAP system landscapes, integration, and service management concepts.
- Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Fluent English required; additional European languages are beneficial.
