Job Description — SAP Field Service and Asset Management (FSAM) Consultant

Position Title: SAP Field Service and Asset Management (FSAM) Consultant Level: Mid to Senior Experience Required: 5–8 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Remote India

1. Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Field Service and Asset Management (FSAM) Consultant with 5–8 years of overall SAP service/asset experience to design, implement, and support SAP Field Service and Asset Management solutions. SAP FSAM optimizes asset and service operations with AI-supported planning, scheduling, dispatch, and mobile execution in one solution. The ideal candidate combines strong functional expertise in field-service and asset-management processes with hands-on configuration of SAP FSAM and its integration with SAP S/4HANA Asset Management / Service and ERP. This role spans implementation, rollout, and Application Management Services (AMS) engagements, working closely with service and maintenance organizations, dispatchers, field technicians, and technical/integration teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support end-to-end SAP FSAM implementations and rollouts — requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Configure core FSAM capabilities: Planning & Dispatching Board, Service Map, Work Orders, Activities, and Time & Material Journal.
  • Set up AI-supported / automated scheduling and dispatching, route optimization, and resource/technician planning.
  • Configure service call and work-order lifecycle, skills/qualifications, service territories, and workforce/crowd management.
  • Implement mobile field execution — technician mobile app setup, offline scenarios, checklists/Smartforms, and activity/service feedback.
  • Support asset management processes — equipment/installed base, maintenance orders/notifications, and asset-centric service execution, in alignment with SAP S/4HANA Asset Management (EAM/PM).
  • Design and support integration between SAP FSAM and SAP S/4HANA / ERP (asset management, service, logistics) via standard connectors, the FSAM integration framework, APIs, and data loaders.
  • Configure master-data flows (equipment, functional locations, service contracts, entitlements, business partners, products) between ERP and FSAM.
  • Support time & material recording, service confirmations, and billing-relevant feedback to ERP for settlement.
  • Perform functional unit, integration, and regression testing; prepare and execute test scripts and support UAT.
  • Provide AMS / production support: incident and problem management, root-cause analysis, enhancement handling, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Prepare functional specifications for extensions/interfaces and collaborate with developers on custom logic, APIs, and reports.
  • Deliver end-user and technician training, knowledge transfer, and documentation (functional design documents, configuration workbooks, runbooks).
  • Advise on best practices, upgrade-safe/clean-core approaches, and new SAP FSAM capabilities across releases.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of overall SAP experience with a minimum of 2–4 years hands-on in SAP FSAM / SAP Field Service Management (FSM).
  • Strong functional knowledge of field-service and asset-management processes: work-order lifecycle, planning & dispatching, mobile execution, and service confirmation.
  • Hands-on FSAM configuration experience (dispatching board, service map, work orders, activities, scheduling, checklists/Smartforms).
  • Experience with FSAM–S/4HANA integration (Asset Management / Service, ERP) using connectors, APIs, and data loaders.
  • Understanding of asset/service master data: equipment, functional locations, installed base, service contracts, entitlements, and business partners.
  • Familiarity with mobile field-service execution and offline scenarios.
  • Ability to author functional specifications and collaborate with technical/integration teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

4. Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • SAP FSM / FSAM Certification (SAP Certified Application Associate).
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Asset Management (EAM / Plant Maintenance) and end-to-end maintenance/service processes.
  • Exposure to SAP Service and Asset Manager (SSAM) mobile app and SAP Mobile Services.
  • Knowledge of SAP BTP / Integration Suite and API-based integration patterns.
  • Experience with AI-supported scheduling optimization, crowd workforce, and analytics/dashboards.
  • Prior experience in AMS / managed services and Agile delivery environments.
  • Domain experience in manufacturing, utilities, high-tech, medical devices, oil & gas, or equipment-servicing industries.
