Role Overview Syntax is seeking an experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant to join our ERP
consulting team. In this role, you will lead financial process design, solution implementation,
and functional support within SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments. You will work closely
with global finance teams, ensure best‑practice financial process optimization, and drive
successful customer transformations across diverse industries.
The ideal candidate is a senior functional expert with strong business acumen, excellent
communication skills, and the ability to lead workshops, design end‑to‑end financial flows,
and collaborate with technical and cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities Functional Consulting & Project Delivery
• Lead design workshops with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements
across FI and CO modules.
• Translate business needs into robust SAP solution designs (Blueprints, Functional Specs,
Process Maps).
• Configure SAP FICO following best practices in S/4HANA and/or ECC environments.
• Support data migration activities, reconciliation, and validation.
• Guide integration with other modules such as MM, SD, PP, and HR.
• Execute testing cycles (SIT, UAT), prepare test scenarios, and ensure delivery quality.
• Provide go‑live support, hypercare, and continuous improvement recommendations.
AMS & Functional Support
• Analyze and resolve complex functional issues in FICO.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and propose sustainable solutions.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs and contribute to knowledge base documentation.
• Provide guidance to key users on process execution and new functionalities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with technical teams by providing clear functional specifications.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders globally to ensure alignment and process
consistency.
• Participate in financial transformation initiatives, automation, and optimization
streams.
Customer Engagement & Leadership
• Act as a trusted advisor on SAP FICO capabilities and financial process optimization.
• Lead customer workshops, demos, and training sessions.
• Mentor junior consultants and support their functional development.
• Contribute to proposals, estimations, and pre‑sales activities when required.
Qualifications & Skills Professional Experience
• Minimum 7+ years experience as an SAP FICO Functional Consultant.
• Strong hands‑on experience in both SAP FI (GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking) and SAP CO
(CCA, PCA, Internal Orders, Product Costing, COPA).
• Experience with S/4HANA Finance is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and controlling flows.
• Proven experience delivering successful SAP implementations and AMS support.
Functional & Business Skills
• Expertise in financial closing processes, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of integration points (MM, SD, PP, PM).
• Ability to write clear functional specifications and collaborate with development teams.
• Experience with Fiori apps, Universal Journal (ACDOCA), and modern S/4HANA
finance innovations.
Soft Skills
• Strong communication skills in English and French.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to lead workshops with senior finance stakeholders.
• Mentorship mindset, supporting junior consultants or interns when needed.
• Structured, proactive, and comfortable working with global multicultural teams.
Preferred Background
• Experience in multinational or industrial environments.
• SAP Certification in FICO or S/4HANA Finance.
• Exposure to tax localization topics (EU, North America, MENA).
• Experience working with integration middleware or automation tools is a plus.
