Senior SAP Security Consultant (S/4HANA Security, Fiori Security, SAP GRC, and IAG)

Job Summary

Syntax Systems Ltd is seeking a Senior SAP Security Consultant with strong hands-on experience across S/4HANA Security, Fiori Security, SAP GRC, and IAG, with the ability to operate effectively in a client-facing, multi-project consulting environment.

This role is suited to a consultant who can independently lead security design, role remediation, testing, troubleshooting, and support across modern SAP landscapes. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth, clear communication, and proven experience working across multiple projects and stakeholders. Experience in analytics security (BW/BPC/SAC), BTP security, and Public Cloud security is highly valued, with some of these areas considered critical depending on current project demand.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and document SAP security roles and authorization concepts across SAP environments.
• Lead and support S/4HANA Security design and delivery activities.
• Design and troubleshoot Fiori Security, including business roles, catalogs, groups/spaces/pages, and app authorization concepts.
• Support and implement SAP GRC Access Control processes, including SoD analysis, mitigation, remediation, and controls support.
• Contribute to or lead IAG-related design, implementation, or support activities.
• Perform user administration, access maintenance, and security configuration across SAP systems.
• Generate, review, and analyze security and compliance reports.
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, defect resolution, and post-go-live support.
• Work closely with functional and technical teams to refine roles and authorizations in line with business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and interact directly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Operate effectively across multiple concurrent projects, balancing delivery, support, and advisory responsibilities.
• Provide strong troubleshooting support and clearly articulate root cause, resolution path, and authorization impacts.

Must-Have Requirements

Experience

• 10+ years of SAP Security experience.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing role-based authorization concepts across SAP ERP and S/4HANA landscapes.
• Experience in at least two full project life cycles implementing an SAP authorization concept.
• Strong hands-on experience in S/4HANA Security.
• Strong hands-on experience in Fiori Security, including:
• Fiori catalogs
• groups / spaces / pages
• tile and target mapping concepts
• troubleshooting Fiori authorization issues
• Strong experience with SAP GRC Access Control (AC).
• Demonstrable experience with IAG, ideally beyond simple exposure or support, including implementation, configuration, or design contribution.
• Experience with BW / BPC / SAC security.
• Ability to independently handle:
• unit testing
• integration testing
• issue resolution
• production support
• Experience working in a consulting environment with the ability to support multiple projects / clients / workstreams. 

Technical Capability

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and confidently.
• Strong understanding of:
• SoD design and remediation
• role design principles
• authorization troubleshooting
• collaboration with functional teams to refine security design

Communication / Delivery Style

• Strong communication skills in English.
• Able to provide clear, structured, and technically credible answers in client and project settings.
• Comfortable leading workshops and working directly with stakeholders.

• Experience with SAP BTP Security.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud security.
• Experience with HANA Security.
• Exposure to Cloud Platform Security more broadly.
• Experience supporting security across a wider SAP application landscape.
• SAP Security / GRC certification.
