SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning Consultant

The SAP Analytics Cloud Planning Consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing planning solutions in SAC to support business forecasting, budgeting, and performance management processes. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop models, create planning applications, and ensure accurate and efficient data integration from various systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements related to planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Design and configure SAC Planning models, dimensions, hierarchies, and data actions.
• Develop planning stories, input forms, and visualizations in SAC to support business processes.
• Build and maintain data integration pipelines between SAC and source systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, SAP Datasphere).
• Develop, test, and troubleshoot data actions, allocations, multi-actions, and predictive forecasts in SAC Planning.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and accuracy checks between source systems and SAC.
• Collaborate with business users during workshops to demonstrate prototypes and gather feedback.
• Prepare functional and technical documentation (e.g., configuration guides, test scripts, user guides).
• Support UAT and resolve issues during testing and post go-live phases.
• Apply best practices for performance optimization of planning models and reports.
• Ensure security, data access controls, and role assignments are properly configured in SAC.
• Provide support for production planning cycles and assist with issue resolution.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience developing SAP Analytics Cloud Planning solutions.
• Hands-on experience with SAC model design, data actions, allocations, and advanced formulas.
• Experience integrating SAC with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, or SAP Datasphere.
• Familiarity with SAC predictive features for forecasting.
• Experience with SAP Analysis for Office for planning/reporting scenarios.
• Understanding of financial and operational planning processes (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet, Workforce, CapEx planning).
• Exposure to scripting in SAC (Advanced Formulas, JavaScript for Analytic Applications) is a plus.
• Experience in at least one end-to-end SAC Planning implementation.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of SAC Planning features:
• Models, dimensions, hierarchies
• Data actions and multi-actions
• Allocations and predictive forecasts
• Version management and driver-based planning
• Proficient in building interactive SAC stories, input templates, and dashboards.
• Understanding of data integration methods between SAC and SAP/non-SAP sources.
• Basic skills in SQL, ABAP, or Python for data manipulation and custom logic (advantageous).
• Ability to optimize performance of planning models and reports.

General Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and business teams.
• Clear and effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Comfortable working in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
