Security Project Manager (m/f/d)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Security Project Manager (m/f/d) to lead and deliver high‑impact security initiatives across our global security organization and customer security engagements. This role is central to ensuring successful execution of internal security enhancement projects, customer onboarding programs, get-to-green remediation plans, cross-functional transformation initiatives, and supporting Detection Engineering sprint planning and project delivery.
The Security Project Manager will collaborate deeply across central security functions including Security Engineering, Security Operations, Security Governance, Corporate Security, and Service Management/Customer Success, ensuring alignment, clarity, and accountability for shared outcomes. This role requires prior experience delivering cybersecurity projects and a strong understanding of security programs, technologies, and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
Security Project Delivery
- Lead the full lifecycle of internal security enhancement projects, including roadmap definition, planning, execution, risk management, and reporting.
- Oversee customer security onboarding projects, ensuring effective activation of managed security services (MDR, SIEM, Exposure Management, Governance services, etc.).
- Drive structured delivery of Get-to-Green and remediation/transformation initiatives across multiple security domains.
- Support and operationalize Detection Engineering sprint planning, including backlog organization, sprint facilitation, and delivery tracking.
Collaboration
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams across the Security Organisation, such as Security Engineering, Security Operations to drive successful execution of projects and programmes.
- Partner with the wider company including Infrastructure, Cloud, and Service Management or Customer Success Management to ensure successful outcomes.
Security Knowledge and Leadership
- Good knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity domains such as SOC operations, managed detection and response, security engineering, vulnerability/exposure management, and governance frameworks.
- Provide clarity and structure to technical teams, acting as the bridge between technical teams and project execution discipline.
- Act as a trusted delivery leader, driving accountability and establishing consistent communication with stakeholders.
Project Management Excellence
- Ensure projects adhere to governance, compliance, and risk‑management frameworks.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, communication structures, and reporting dashboards.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies while driving accountability among stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and briefings with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ensure high‑quality documentation, including project charters, status reports, and post‑implementation reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience (5+ years) managing and delivering cybersecurity‑focused projects in mid‑to‑large enterprise environments, preferably as part of a CISO organisation, or for a IT services company delivering managed or professional security services.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive project outcomes with clarity, structure, and consistency.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing initiatives involving one or more of the following technologies: Splunk Enterprise & Enterprise Security, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Qualys or CyberArk.
- Experience supporting customer onboarding programs, managed security services, or security consulting delivery.
- Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum).
